My current research interests are probabilistic methods in geotechnical engineering, modelling the spatial variability of soil, foundation bearing capacity, slope stability analysis.
Recently I have been working on the stability of lunar lava tubes. My first paper on this subject was recently published in Icarus. In this field, I received a NCN grant from the SONATA 19 program for the implementation of a scientific project aimed at better understanding collapses occurring on the lunar surface (I will start the project at the end of 2024).
I received my engineering degree and my master's degree from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Wrocław University of Science and Technology in 2012 and 2013, respectively. My doctoral dissertation concerned the application of random field theory and multi-block failure mechanisms for the assessment of the bearing capacity of direct foundations accounting for the spatial variation of soil parameters. After obtaining my PhD in 2018, I have been working on the creation and development of novel methods for the optimal placement of soil soundings for foundation design and new approaches for considering soil spatial variability in foundation bearing capacity and slope stability assessment. In 2024, I obtained a habilitation degree in technical sciences.
I am pleased to be a member of Academia Iuvenum (2023-2025), a member of the Engineering Practice of Risk Assessment and Management Committee (TC304) of the ISSMGE, and a scholarship holder of the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
